Chargers Lose to Braves in OT Despite Price’s Season-High 24

MOLINE — Eric Price (Galesburg, Ill./Galesburg) hit a new season-high in scoring and Atem Agot (East Moline, Ill./United Township) matched his season-best, but the Carl Sandburg College men’s basketball team lost 99-95 in overtime at Black Hawk on Thursday night.

The Chargers (14-12 overall, 2-5 Arrowhead Conference) took a 46-38 lead into halftime, but the Braves scored the final five points in regulation to force OT, getting the tying bucket with :10 left.

Price finished with 24 points off the bench to lead the Chargers. The freshman scored 13 in the first half and hit a pair of 3-pointers in the contest. The big night surpassed Price’s previous best of 19 points on Feb. 5 at McHenry County.

Agot added 22 points for Sandburg before fouling out in OT. The sophomore forward had 12 first-half points and drained three 3s on the night. Agot also scored 22 in the Chargers’ first meeting with Black Hawk on Jan. 18.

Freshman guard Connor Barnett (Fulton, Ill./Fulton) totaled 17 points for Sandburg, one away from tying his season best. He’s reached double figures in eight of the last 10 games.

The Braves’ Jacob Profit led all players with 27 points.
